Week 3 - Windows

Windows
The exercise for the week 3 of 52-week challenge was to photograph Window(s).  We were also allowed to do some editing this time in Lightroom (still no cropping…) - we could adjust highlights, shadows, whites & blacks, clarify, vibrance & saturation.  The only day I could get out - it was snowing, of course.  I went to Camp Morton Provincial Park as these were the only interesting windows I could find - without photographing someone's house & getting yelled at!  Most old homes are gone or fenced in, too much snow to trudge through or the windows have been bordered up.

Week 2 - Find a Line

Find a Line
The assignment for Week 2 was photograph a simple single line.

It was Very cold outside this day when I took photos.   I like the texture & colours of the rusty truck against the crisp snow.

Ricky Tim's 52-week Photography - 2016

Obviously my efforts on doing photos on my own had stopped.  I needed to do something to get back on track with my photography - or I'd forget all I knew!

Saw the course offered by Ricky Tim's 52-week Challenge & I signed up.

His first assignment was a pre-challenge - just to get everyone used to the assignment, their cameras & uploading to his website.  He uses the SmugMug website for his photos.

Pre-Challenge was to take a photo on the day of Winter Solstice (not before the day or after).  I took this photo down the road from our place, on the lake.  It was a VERY overcast day, but I liked the red chair on the shore - I would have gotten closer, but the rocks under the snow were covered in ice & very slippery!

The course information comes as an email every Sunday & you have until the next Sunday to upload.

 Week 1 - Selective Focus

We had to take a picture with no flash and shallow depth of field.
I took this photo just the day I was putting Christmas decorations away.

f/2.8 with 1/80th exposure.
